Annamekee Hesik's Bio

Annameekee Hesik is an award winning author and teacher. She was born in Ojai, California, and moved to Tucson during her formative years (ages 10-21), graduating from Catalina High School in 1993. At Catalina High, she played basketball all four years and was named Most Valuable Players each year. After completing her associate degree in Tucson at Pima Community College, she received her BA in English from the University of California at Davis, with a minor in Creative Writing. There, she entered and won several writing contests, published her poetry, rode her bike, and met the love of her life. Together they moved to Santa Cruz to earn their master's degrees in Education from the University of California at Santa Cruz. Annameekee and her wife teach 8th Grade Language Arts in Castroville and Salinas, respectively, in Northern California. Annameekee has just finished writing her first young adult fiction novel and is now seeking publication opportunities. Please email Annameekee for a synopsis and more information about the novel.
